Technology and Digital Services
The Communication Workers’ Union (CWU GH) represents workers in Ghana’s growing technology and digital services sector. We support professionals working in software development, IT support, cybersecurity, digital platforms, data management, fintech, artificial intelligence, networking, cloud services, and other technology-driven industries. Our members work across different areas including engineering, product development, technical operations, customer support, systems administration, digital innovation, and technology infrastructure that power modern businesses and communication.
What is a trade union?
A trade union is an organisation formed by workers who come together to protect their interests and collectively advocate for better conditions in the workplace. CWU (GH) works to defend the rights of tech workers by promoting fair pay, equal opportunities, safe and healthy work environments, job security, professional growth, and fair workplace policies. The union exists to ensure that workers in the technology sector have a strong and united voice in decisions that affect their careers and wellbeing.
Why should I join CWU (GH)?
One of the key functions of CWU (GH) is to represent workers in discussions and negotiations with employers on matters affecting their work and welfare. Union members are more likely to benefit from improved salaries, fair contracts, better working conditions, career development opportunities, workplace protection, and stronger employment rights.
Membership with CWU (GH) also provides support and representation in workplace disputes, grievances, and disciplinary matters. The union helps create a supportive environment where workers can confidently raise concerns, contribute ideas, and advocate for fairness without fear of unfair treatment.
By joining CWU (GH), you become part of a united movement that promotes solidarity, dignity, equality, innovation, and stronger protection for workers in Ghana’s technology and digital services industry.
