Postal Workers

The Communication Workers’ Union (CWU GH) is the leading trade union representing postal workers in Ghana. We support and stand with workers across the postal, delivery, logistics, and warehousing sectors, including employees involved in mail handling, parcel delivery, transportation, distribution, customer service, administration, and other support services. Our members work in all areas of the industry, from collection, sorting, dispatch, and logistics operations to delivering parcels and mail directly to homes, offices, and businesses.

What is a trade union?

A trade union is an organisation made up of workers who come together to support one another and collectively advocate for better conditions in their workplaces. CWU (GH) is committed to protecting the rights and welfare of workers by campaigning for fair pay, improved working conditions, job security, health and safety, equal opportunities, and better benefits for members. Our primary objective is to protect and advance the interests of workers while ensuring their voices are heard. The union operates independently and is supported by its members.

Why should I join CWU (GH)?

One of the key roles of CWU (GH) is to negotiate with employers on behalf of workers on issues affecting their jobs and livelihoods. Union members are more likely to enjoy better pay, improved working conditions, stronger job security, fair disciplinary processes, and enhanced benefits such as pensions, leave, and workplace protection.

Being a member of CWU (GH) also gives workers access to representation, guidance, and support in workplace matters, helping to ensure fairness and accountability. The union creates a stronger collective voice that empowers workers to raise concerns confidently and contribute to positive change in their workplaces.

By joining CWU (GH), you become part of a united movement that promotes solidarity, fairness, dignity, and respect for workers across the postal and logistics sector.
